Mighty Real 2024

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported PRC's Mighty Real event! We're excited to share that we raised over $200,000 to support PRC's life-transforming services, and while the event has passed, we're keeping the momentum going in hopes of reaching our fundraising goal. Named after the iconic song "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" by our patron saint and greatest benefactor, Sylvester, the legendary "Queen of Disco," Mighty Real honors his incredible legacy. Sylvester, who benefited from PRC's services, generously gifted his future music royalties to PRC, and we celebrate his spirit through this signature fundraising event each year.

This year, we also honored the incredible journeys of our clients, who continue to imagine the possibility of a better life, find the inspiration to take that first step, and act to make it a reality. Throughout the evening, we invited our guests to take their own journey to:

WHAT TO EXPECT

Cocktail Reception
Mingle among three floors, including a rooftop deck with stunning views, at The Pearl, a modern yet eclectic venue based in the vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood and known for its industrial chic design and numerous engaging art installations.

Please your taste buds with an array of delectable passed appetizers and libations. Try your luck in exciting fundraising activations include a wine pull and a Mighty Real Treasure “winner takes all” raffle for a lavish collection of luxury goods and experiences. Take photos beside our custom-made PRC logo step and repeat. Chat with PRC board members, staff, clients, and other esteemed guests, all while learning more about the lifesaving and transformative services provided by PRC.

Seated Dinner
Following the cocktail reception, we'll gather in the main hall to savor an exquisite three-course meal courtesy of Carrie Dove Catering, fine wines, and an inspiring program led by the very talented and entertaining master of ceremonies Jonathan Moscone.

Awards Ceremony
Mighty Real wouldn't be complete without awards honoring exceptional individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS, mental health, and/or substance use issues. 

Sylvester Community Pillar Award | Steven Ames Brown
Steven Ames Brown will be honored with the Sylvester Community Pillar Award, named after PRC's patron saint and greatest benefactor. Steven has a special connection to this award: Through his noble efforts, Steven ensured that Sylvester’s royalties benefited PRC as Sylvester intended. He has made a career of fighting for scores of recording artists to ensure they were adequately compensated and had a fair say in how their works were presented to the public.

Vanguard Leadership Award | Dr. Monica Gandhi
Dr. Monica Gandhi will be honored with the Keystone Service Award for her pioneering work and research in HIV treatment and prevention. Monica is the Medical Director of Ward 86, one of the first dedicated HIV clinics in the United States.

Outstanding Corporate Partner Award | MarshMcLennen Agency
MarshMcLennen Agency (MMA) will be honored with the Outstanding Corporate Partner Award for working closely with PRC’s People Experience team to ensure our staff have the best benefits we can offer. Their staff have personally stepped up to support our Staff Appreciation Month, and most recently they nominated and secured a grant for PRC from their foundation, the Barney and Barney Foundation.

Live Auction & Paddle Raise
This is a fundraiser after all! Our exciting, exhilarating, action-packed live auction will feature the ever popular Dine About Town experience, travel packages including a stay in Portugal, and more, all supporting PRC's transformative programs.

After Party
Extend the celebration by staying for the after party. DJ Adrian Loving, noted DJ, entrepreneur, contemporary art and music historian, and visual artist will lead a live DJ set, including video projection material featuring Sylvester and related content highlighting DJ Adrian Loving’s works exploring androgyny, gender roles, fashion, and the sensationalism of style in 80’s pop music.

All proceeds support PRC’s integrated services that annually help 5,000 clients transform their lives for the better.
